How to Customize Your Classic Car Switch Paneluse our interactive builder to customize your classic rocker switch panel
1Choose your rocker panel type
To get started, classic rocker switch blocks are available with your choice of 4 to 7 surface mount rockers.
We also offer an extra ignition switch: you can add a traditional 4-position key switch or a modern 3A LED pushbutton. Keep in mind that the momentary pushbutton requires an additional relay to control any device.
Do your loads need breakers? Any classic car rocker block with a key switch or pushbutton can also be fitted with breakers for each individual rocker.
Your stainless steel faceplate will change in size and shape according to the number (and type) of switches chosen.
Now, learn about customizing each individual surface mount rocker switch.
2Choose your switches
These round-hole mounted, 3 pin SPST ON/OFF surface mount rockers are rated 15A at 12vDC and can be used to control incandescent lighting and fully resistive loads. After you’ve selected the number of switches, you get to choose their colors.
After you’ve decided on colors, choosing the correct main fuse comes next.

Connect the red main feeder conductor to the car starter’s battery power terminal. Then, install the supplied main fuse and holder in the main feeder conductor between the starter and the switch panel input jumper stud.
Switches & Loads
Connect the positive and negative jumpers to each switch. Then, install the output wire to your loads. Make sure your load amperages are within the rated capacity of each switch. Otherwise, use one or more relays. Use branch fuses/breakers as may be required for each switch. Wiring diagram also includes instructions for pushbutton and key switch panels.
Connect to a relay panel
Need relays? Wiring your switch panel to an MGI relay panel is easy. Connect your outputs and loads to the appropriate relay panel terminal, and connect your positive jumpers to the relay panel’s 5A control circuit. All specific relay panel diagrams can be found on their respective product page.
